CONSERVATION GRAZING
I like to tell you al little bit about Natuurlijk Beheer. It’s a sympathetic agricultural concept in Appelscha. Natuurlijk Beheer owns some sizeable herds of tough, self-reliant Highlanders, Black Angus cattle and Schoonebeeker Sheep. Remarkable is the fact that they don’t use any farmland for their cattle. Conservation Grazing is the core business! All year round (yes, also midwinter) their herds graze in Dutch Nature Reserves and natural landscape in order to manage these natural habitats for more biodiversity. And in exchange the animals grow up in total freedom and live a natural life in social herds.
The high-quality organic meat from these herds is available in the webshop biologischnatuurvlees.nl or can be found on the menu of some fine restaurants.

I don’t put meat on the menu every day, but when I do, it has to be very tasty! And preferably honest and organic too. I happen to like the idea of eating meat from animals who lived a free and useful life.
